EABDA's New Programmes

New Programmes

The programmes of the Association shall be in three areas:

(i)    Research and Development whose activities include surveys in various aspects of the book sector, including reading needs, readership levels, and book markets; conferences to discuss the findings; advocacy activities to promote the recommendations; and publication of proceedings.

(ii)    Promotion of Indigenous Knowledge through a rotational book fund to facilitate publication and distribution of cultural books and books on indigenous knowledge; Authors' skills development workshops; and a cultural literary award to promote publication and use of local language books.

(iii)    Trade Facilitation to enhance cross border book trade through support to stakeholder organizations to organize book week festivals; support to a rotational regional book fair and organizing of trade forums such as buyers-sellers meetings.
